Raspberry Pi

The Raspberry Pi Foundation is a UK charity founded by David Braben of Elite fame amongst others, the stated goal of the charity being “to promote the study of computer science […] especially at school level, and to put the fun back into learning computing”; to realise this goal the charity intends to develop, manufacture, and distribute an “ultra-low-cost” (the expected price is £15) computer approximately the size of a USB thumb drive (excluding the external power adapter), the computer being designed to either plug into a TV and have a mouse and keyboard plugged into it by means of a USB hub, or be combined with a touch screen to create a low-cost tablet computer; the computer is expected to be available to the public later in 2011.
